FAQs

Who can be a member? Membership is open people who identify as women and reside in the Puget Sound region of Washington State. Joining requires an application and payment of an annual fee. Membership runs for one year, January to January. We offer a half year rate for those joining July 1st or after.

Can non-members attend your activities? Prospective members can attend some of our activities, up to three times total, prior to joining. Two of those visits can be for paid events. Women who have not joined pay a slightly higher rate than members. Whether events are opened or private, and the related fees are clearly posted on each Meet-up Event listing.

Why become a member? Membership is the heart of this organization. We are a volunteer run, volunteer led organization. Membership dues assure the basic overhead expenses are covered year to year, so that we can continue our arts and crafts programing without worry. Membership helps to assure things like insurance and space rental are funded without worry or fund raising. While we run on volunteerism, we do pay our instructors and presenters. Class fees and cancelation policies assure instructors are compensated for the work they put into their class offerings. Cancellation policies can be found under each Event listing on Meet-up.

Who teaches your classes? Our classes are generally run by our members, although we also bring in guest artists and teachers from the community.

You don’t accept money on Meet-Up. How do I pay for classes? If you have not yet joined, you can pay through Venmo. Alternatively, you are also welcome to drop by a free-event and make sure you are appropriately registered for the upcoming paid event. Members have more payment options than the general public.

Do you accept donations? Are they tax deductible? Yes. We are a 501(c)3 and donations that are not in exchange for a service or tangible good are tax-deductible in accordance with US tax law. Please talk to our President for more information on how to make and claim donations.
